We believe that we are an outstanding middle school because we provide a safe, well organized environment, where adults know, like, and understand adolescents.

KMS, it's time for the second clue to help you guess this year's musical…
Although it was nominated for 6 Academy Awards as a film, this year's musical was not considered a financial box office success when it was first released…
Students interested in getting involved in the musical this year should come to the Musical Kick-Off Meeting this Thursday, after school, until 3:30. At the meeting, the title of the show will be officially announced, and you will learn how to begin to prepare for auditions in January. If you have any questions, see or email Mrs. Uster, Ms. Goldman, or Mr. Scheuing.
The KMS Robotics team Lahar Legion will meet three days this week instead of two.
Meetings will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school in the Technology Lab from 2:45 till 4:30. These will be the last team meetings till January. Students should bring a snack.
7th Grade Baseball
Despite the current weather, the Spring sports season will be upon us
in the blink of an eye. The time to prepare is now. Excellence takes
hard work, get ahead of the game and start putting in your work in
over Winter Break.
Please see Mr. Robinson or Ms. Staley in the main office to get an important memo about the upcoming Baseball season. The memo includes: information about the tryout process, tips on preparing for the season, and contact information for Coach James.
Coach James does not work in the building so the only way to get this information is to get the memo!
Congratulations to the KMS hockey team on a 6-1 victory last night! Shout out to Big Drew for a great game!

Teens with ADHD face challenges friends and family might not understand. This discussion group provides a rare opportunity to meet other teens with ADHD and to share ideas and resources for succeeding in school.
Since parents must stay on premises during the group meeting, they meet in a separate room to network and share resources in a discussion facilitated by a CHADD leader.
Call 610-429-4060 for info.

Just a reminder that KMS is collecting Box Tops for Education. Please bring your Box Tops to the Main Office. This program helps support the KMS Math Carnival and the KMS Musical. Thank you.
This is a reminder that due to the number of students assigned to each bus, the school is not able to grant bus passes. This policy has been posted on our webpage for the past few years. In the event of extenuating circumstances, parents are requested to call transportation to arrange for their child’s permission to ride another bus. The KCSD transportation department’s number is 610-444-6618.
Due to students with allergies to latex, latex balloons, gloves or other latex items are not permitted at Kennett Middle School. Due to food allergies, do not send items containing any type of nuts or peanut butter when sending snacks for a classroom, sports, dance or other events at KMS.
Sick Child - If your child needs to go home from school due to illness, you will be contacted directly by the school nurse. If you receive a call or text from your child stating they are sick and need to be picked up from school, please contact the school nurse at 610 268 5874
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.
The following is the procedure for absences, early dismissals and late arrivals at KMS.
If your child is absent on a given day, please call the school, (610) 268 5878, to notify us. Additionally, a note MUST be sent in upon your child’s return to school; without the note, your child’s absence will be considered unexcused.
If you know you will be picking your child up during school hours, please send a note in with your child on that day stating the time they are to be dismissed from class. The school will issue your child a pass to come to the office at that time. You must come into the Main Office to sign your child out.
Late Arrivals - In the event your child will be late to school, your child MUST sign in with the Attendance Secretary, located in the Guidance Office. Please send your child in with a note stating the reason for their tardiness. Pick ups AFTER the school day - If you choose to pick your child up after the school day, the arrangement is between you and your child. KMS does not need a note for after school pick ups.
For more details on the above items, please refer to the Student Handbook that was sent home with your child.
You may access information regarding Pinnacle Parent access on the KCSD home website, in the "For Parents" section. If you have a technical question, including questions on your log in: please send an email to email@example.com
