7th Grade Math Carnival Needs Your Help!

The annual 7th grade Math Carnival will be Friday, March 13th.  We are still in need of volunteers to help run the games both for the morning session and the afternoon session.  If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Gretchen Coe at gcoe@kcsd.org

We are also in need of raffle prize items.  Popular items in the past have been sports equipment, current popular books, large stuffed animals, and $5 or $10 gift cards to popular teen stores.  Items can be given to any 7th grade teacher who will get them to Mrs. Coe or they may be dropped off at the main office and marked for the carnival.

Thank You!

Girls Leadership

Girls’ Leadership, our time together is coming to an end!  Our last meeting will be this Friday during periods 2 and 3 in the library!  We have a very fun activity planned, so we will see you during periods 2 and 3 in the library this Friday!

Also, our conference is finally here!  This Saturday, we are meeting at Kennett High School at 9:00 to board the bus.  So, remember, we are meeting at the high school, NOT the middle school, on Saturday.  If you haven’t handed in your conference permission form, please do so as soon as possible in guidance!

The KMS Girls’ Leadership program is doing a service project to promote women’s education throughout the world.  They are focusing on an all girl’s school in rural India called the Pardada Pardadi School.  This school was created in a village where girls were not able to be educated, but could only be slaves.  Now these girls can go to school, but they do not have all the gifts we have.  For instance, these girls have to sit on floors all day because there are no desks, but they are still happy to be in school and happy to learn.

Our Girls’ Leadership program is collecting donations for new and used school supplies to be sent to their friends at the girl’s Indian school.  They are also collecting fun things that girls may like, such as hair accessories and fashion jewelry.  Please drop off your donations to the collection box in the Guidance office.

Thank you for your help, and for helping women’s education throughout the world!

Mr. Carr’s Corner…

Success
BESSIE STANLEY
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

Absence, Early Dismissal, Late Arrival procedures

The following is the procedure for absences, early dismissals and late arrivals at KMS.

Absences
If your child is absent on a given day, please call the school, (610) 268 5878, to notify us. Additionally, a note MUST be sent in upon your child’s return to school; without the note, your child’s absence will be considered unexcused.

Early Dismissals
If you know you will be picking your child up during school hours, please send a note in with your child on that day stating the time they are to be dismissed from class. The school will issue your child a pass to come to the office at that time. You must come into the Main Office to sign your child out.

Late Arrivals - In the event your child will be late to school, your child MUST sign in with the Attendance Secretary, located in the Guidance Office.  Please send your child in with a note stating the reason for their tardiness. Pick ups AFTER the school day - If you choose to pick your child up after the school day, the arrangement is between you and your child.  KMS does not need a note for after school pick ups.

For more details on the above items, please refer to the Student Handbook that was sent home with your child.
