2023 KMS Summer Enrichment Camps
Kennett Middle School (KMS) is pleased to announce the return of its Summer Enrichment Camps!
Current KMS students from 6th through 8th Grade* are each invited to participate in a free offering each week from July 10 – August 3.
All Summer Enrichment Camps run Monday – Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Kennett High School (KHS). Transportation will be provided!
In order for students to do their best, we kindly request regular attendance.
Space is limited– so be sure to start the Summer fun today! Register via the Skyward Family Access Portal by May 31.

*Please note, children invited to attend Extended School Year, Summer ELD Academy or Summer School are ineligible for Summer Enrichment Camps.

Cake Decorating
Meets Week of July 10
Learn the basics about decorating cakes.
Ceramics
Meets Week of July 10
In this camp, we will be using basic hand building ceramic techniques to create sculptural and functional pieces using both air dry clay and ceramic clay! Finished pieces will be dried and bisque fired for pick up after your camp session is completed.
Coding

Want to learn to write code? Join our session for experience with HTML, CSS, java, and more!
Crafts

Do you like to make things with your hands? We will do a variety of craft activities that use common household materials as well as speciality materials. Come and explore your creativity.
Creative Writing

Do you love writing? This creative writing camp is an opportunity for students to learn the writing process, try new strategies and gain confidence in their writing. Join us to sharpen writing skills and develop your voice through various creative writing activities and workshops.
Drawing & Painting with Watercolors

You will learn drawing, sketching, shading and using basic watercolor techniques to bring your art to life with watercolors!
Outdoor Science Education
Meets Week of July 10
Do you like to spend time outdoors? Have you ever thought about the science all around you? We will investigate various science concepts while spending as much time outdoors as possible! We will play games and do activities related to outdoor education.
Pre-Algebra
Meets all Summer, July 10 – August 3
Looking to advance your Algebraic Thinking Skills? Join us this Summer for Pre Algebra Enrichment. It’s numbers, variables, operations and more through direct instruction and interactive activities. Let’s Learn! (This class is a great learning opportunity but does not guarantee placement into any Pre Algebra or Algebra courses )
Sports and Cooperative Games
Meets Week of July 10, July 17, July 24 and July 31
Summer sports camp will give students a chance to take part in a variety of sports and games. Students will participate in soccer, kickball, basketball and other cooperative team building activities.
Theater/Drama
Meets Week of July 24
Are you interested in Theater? Come and learn how to prepare for auditions. We will also play theatrical games that will give you “tricks and tips” for performing on stage to become the best “thespian” you can be!
