Friday, October 14, 2016 Day 2

Congratulations goes out to the KMS Cross-Country team for winning their last home race against North Brandywine! The boys had a perfect score with top runner Gavin Maxwell at a mile split of 5:30, followed by Logan Piercy, Divan Du Toit, Miko Davidson-Hance, and Corey Fricker. Honorable mention to the double Maxes, Max Beveridge and Max Moltchanov who would have made the difference if it had been a close race. As for our girls, a shout-out goes to Madison Brooks, Maya Ranganath, and Olivia Sparacino who passed 20 boys on the course. What a way to end our last home race. Great team effort from all involved! The cross-country coach couldn’t be prouder of ALL team members as times are consistently improving. Look out other XC teams, our KMS runners are ones to watch!! Team, don’t forget, FUN Friday! Meet with your suit, towel, and book bags in front of the school store at the end of the day. Bus will depart at 3 pm.

The 7th and 8th grade field hockey teams joined forces to defeat Chichester yesterday by a score of 4-0. In the first half, the 8th grade team was on the attack and took the early lead on goals by Greta Wolff and Holland Sellers. During the second half, the 7th grade continued the pressure and added goals by Genevieve Ebaugh and Vivian Chiomento. The goal keeping duo of Soleil Jevtitch and Anna Tresoldi combined to keep Chichester scoreless. Way to go Kennett!

Betsy the Cow Visits KMS

Another memorable day at Kennett Middle School yesterday…

Betsy the Cow joined us for a live drawing lab in art classes. Our always adventurous and ever-remarkable KMS art teachers with the help of the father of seventh grade student, Penny Romanelli, arranged for Betsy to spend the day at KMS. Betsy is a 4 month old calf who weighs about 180 pounds.

The live drawing lab has become a tradition in Mrs. Uhl’s and Ms. Conner’s art classes featuring animals such as ducks, bunnies, a pig, horses, goats, an owl, a parrot, rats, and chickens. What an awesome experience for our students!
