KENNETT SQUARE >> The Kennett Consolidated School District is proud to announce that U.S. News & World Report has named Kennett High School one of America’s Best High Schools. To produce the 2017 Best High Schools rankings, U.S. News & World Report teamed up with North Carolina–based RTI International, a global nonprofit social-science research firm. The comprehensive rankings methodology is based on the key principles that a great high school must serve all of its students well, not just those who are college bound, and that it must be able to produce measurable academic outcomes to show it is successfully educating its student body across a range of performance indicators.
“This award is meaningful because it reflects the growth in academic achievement realized by our students.

Attention all KMS Students. Did you know that 52,000 service members have been physically wounded in the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, or that an unprecedented number of servicemen and women have sustained wounds of such severity that they will require lifelong assistance with things that we do every day that we take for granted? My name is Christian Dahms, and as the son of a former serviceman who has taken care of many of these people, I know the seriousness of this situation. So, starting this Thursday, April 27th, we will doing a fundraiser called Hoops For Troops. We will be selling raffle tickets during all lunches for an opportunity to participate in a school-wide basketball trivia Kahoot! Tickets cost 1$ each and will be sold Thursday April 27th through Tuesday, May 2nd. The Kahoot game will be based entirely on basketball trivia. 20 tickets will be pulled at random on Tuesday, May 2nd and those students will be the winners! They will get to participate in the Kahoot Basketball Trivia game during 9th period on Friday, May 5th. AND…the top 3 winners of the Kahoot game will get to play a 3 on 3 game of basketball against Mr. DeAngelis, Ms. Levi, and Mr. Moore. This all goes down on May 5th, which is next Friday, so make sure you buy your tickets asap! Remember-The more tickets you buy, the better your odds are of getting selected as one of our 20 winners! And- Even if you are not into basketball, we will still accept monetary donations to benefit our cause without the purchase of a ticket. All donations for this fundraiser, Hoops For Troops, will go directly to the Wounded Warrior Project. Help us support the brave men and women who lay their lives on the line for our safety. Thank you. Christian Dahms
