Friday, May 12, 2017 Day 1

6th and 7th grade boys & girls who plan to try out for ANY sport at KMS next year.

You must have a sports physical done after June 1st by your private doctor or at school. These forms are now available in the Nurse’s Office or outside of the Main Office.

Sports physicals will be done at KMS on June 1 and 6. They will NOT be offered again next year.

Consent forms must be returned directly to the nurse by May 26th if you plan to have a physical done at school. The fee for a sports physical at school is $15. If the cost is a problem, please see the nurse. 8th Grade Students will receive information from Mr. Harvey about sports physicals for Kennett High School in June.

Attention winners of the KMS Hoops 4 Troops Trivia Challenge. The rescheduled date and time for the Hoops 4 Troops challenge will be tomorrow, Friday, May 12th during 9th period. Attention all students and staff:

Monday morning kicks off our very first annual College and Career Awareness Week. Let’s all make Monday a day to remember by seeing if everyone in the entire school will wear a hat that advertises a college, a business, a career, a military branch, a sports team….anything that celebrates the places we may go and the things we may do after we graduate from high school! Stay tuned every morning next week for morning conversation starters, questions of the day, and more spirit days to come! We will see you in your college and career hats on Monday!!!

Attention all students, if you had any artwork in the Art show, or if you left any artwork in the art rooms over the past 3 marking periods, please come pick them up NOW. Mrs. Uhl and Ms. Conner cannot guarantee that we will have room to keep any projects over the summer, so be sure to come down and pick them up by Friday May 26th.

Attention 8th grade students don’t forget to stop by the art room and pick up your ceramic self- portrait faces. They make great Mother’s Day gifts! Remember Mother’s Day is this Sunday!

8th grade, Can you believe that many of you are only a few months or years away from your first job! We’d really like to help you prepare to make a great first impression. We already have some teachers in line to model what not to wear and now we need a few students willing to model what TO wear in the Career Day Fashion Show. If you are willing to walk the runway, please stop in to the Counseling Office following the morning announcements.

On Thursday, the 8th grade girls lacrosse team played hard against Avon Grove and ended with a 9-9 tie. They started off the game down 3-0 but fought back to keep the game a close one until the end. The team was led by Emma Schwarz, with 6 goals. Taylor Heimann, Devon Johnson and Ellie Matthews also contributed with a goal each. Emma, Taylor and Devon combined to win a majority of the draw controls and caused turnovers. On defense, strong play from Julia Kosara, Maddie Sallurday, Isabella McLaughlin and Olivia Sparacino help out goalie Paige Brown. Paige ended the game with 7 saves, most coming in the second half. The girls take on Great Valley next Wednesday at home, for their last game of the season.

The Girls Softball team is home against South Brandywine

The 8th Grade boys baseball team also plays home against South Brandywine.

Good luck, have fun, and play hard!

Please stay tuned for Flocabulary Friday.

Have a Great Day KMS!
