Attention all 7th and 8th Grade boys interested in playing soccer. Boys soccer tryouts will be held on September 5th and 6th. Tryouts will go from 2:45 to 4:30. Any boys interested in trying out for soccer must have a physical on file with the nurse. Please see Coach Saikin in B007 with any questions.

Girls Soccer Tryouts will be held on Tuesday 9/5 and Wednesday 9/6 from 2:45- 4:30pm. Make sure you have a Physical turned in. Please bring sneakers, cleats, shin guards and plenty of water. See Coach Gottstein with any questions.

Hi students, If you are someone who completed part or all of your Bingo Bored this summer, please turn it into the office before the end of the week. Thanks!

Attention all singers: Treble Choir auditions will be held next week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in room F105. Interested 7th and 8thGrade students should sign up for a time slot outside of room F105. See Mrs. Mancuso with any questions.

Attention 7th and 8th graders interested in playing field hockey. Try-outs will be held next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. If you have not do so already, please see Mr. Robinson in room D101 to receive additional tryout information.

Attention 7th and 8th Grade girls interested in playing volleyball this season:  Try-outs will be held next week from Tuesday through Friday. You first must have all paperwork completed and turned in to Nurse Shannon. You may not try-out without completed paperwork turned in. You must also attend all 4 days of try-outs next week, Tuesday through Friday. Please come dressed to exercise and play and bring a filled, closed-top water bottle. No knee pads or special equipment is necessary. Pick up is at 4:30 each day. If you have any questions, please see Coach Colgan in Room B108 or Coach Conner in Room D113.

Reminder! Please be sure to return or renew all summer reading library books by Friday, September 1st. Beyond that date, they will be overdue and you will need to return them before selecting new materials. Thank you.”

“Calling all LEGO Engineers! If you were part of Kennett Middle School’s First Lego League Robotics Club last year, please plan to stay after school on Thursday for this year’s first team meeting. FLL members will meet in Ms. Tomaino’s room after school, this Thursday, to plan, discuss, and review this year’s mission.”

There will be a cross-country meeting afterschool on Friday, September 1. We will meet in front of the school store in the main hallway. Our meeting will be from 2:35-3:45 pm, with parent pick-up by 4 pm. Practice will officially begin on Tuesday, September 5th. Looking forward to running a great season with my newest team by my side. Cheerleading practice will begin on Tuesday, September 5th from 2:45-4:30. Meet Coach Schuessler in front of the girls locker room. All students interested in participating must have the sports physical completed beforehand.

Student Emergency Forms, Sports Physicals, and 6th grade physicals should be turned into the nurse. Lists of 7th and 8th grade students who are cleared for FALL sports will be posted outside of the cafeteria at lunch. If you have a sports physical or consents, please bring to the nurse now.

Remember to check for your name on the lists today and see the nurse if your name is missing and you plan to try out for field hockey, soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, or cross country.

ALL students must have a current sports physical and consents on file with Mrs. Shannon prior to try outs.

Welcome Back To School – Monday, August 28, 2017 Day 1

Many people worked very hard this summer to get ready for today. Students, we welcome you to what promises to be the best year yet.

Students, make sure once you have received your agenda book, that you take it to every class. Don’t forget to take it to your cycles classes because you may need to keep track of important information. 6th grades, do not leave it in first period especially for PE.

Many of you are new to our school. 6th graders you had your days for school labeled as letters. You had A day through F. Here at KMS we have the same 6 day cycle but our days are numbered 1 through 6. You probably heard in the opening of the announcements that today is day 1. Tomorrow is day 2. You will need to know the day of the week to determine which cycle you go to.

Attention all students, tomorrow we will have principal’s advisories. 6th grade will be in the big gym during 2nd and 3rd period. 7th grade will report to the big gym during 4th and 5th period. Finally, 8th grade will have advisory in the big gym during 8th and 9th period. That means tomorrow you will not have your cycles class you will be hearing many important things!

New Student Orientation Success & Schedules

Wow! What a great turn out we had at New Student Orientation today! Thank you to everyone who attended. If you couldn’t make it today and you are a new student, please feel free to stop by the main or guidance office next week to pick up your schedule and locker information.

For returning KMS students, you can view your schedules now on Skyward. Information about Skyward is located here: https://www.kcsd.org/for-parents/family-and-student-skyward-access/. (Skyward login information – your username: six digit student ID; Password: eight digit birthday)

All students, new and returning, will receive a new copy of their schedule and locker information on the first day of school, August 28, 2017. The principals will also be outside by the buses in the morning with lists of homerooms in case a student does not know.
