Tuesday theme for this year is Latin and Greek root of the week. What is the root of a word? (Pause) A basic word which has affixes are added is called a root word. Affixes are prefixes and suffixes and they form the basis of a new word. The root word is also a word in its own right. For example, the word lovely consists of the word love and the suffix -ly. The word love is a noun and the suffix ly changes the word into an adjective.
Have a Great Day and long weekend KMS!
