Congratulations to our Robotics Team who competing at the Westtown School in the FLL Robotics Competition over the weekend. After a day of giving their best, one of our teams was awarded the Robot Design Award! The judges recognized the uniqueness of the team’s innovative design, and the hard work they put in to developing that robot. Both of our teams came close to moving on to the next round of competition. We are proud of the incredible dedication they showed throughout the entire season and we look forward to next year’s season! Congratulations, FLL team!

Today the 7th and 8th grade will have their combined rehearsals. All rehearsals are in the small gym. Period 3 classes will meet during periods 3 & 4. Period 5 classes will meet during periods 5 & 6. 8th and 9th period classes meet during periods 8 & 9. The schedule is posted on the white board outside of the office. Teachers, positive attendance will be taken.

Today is the last day to turn in your permission slip for the Brandywine River Museum trip on December 19th.

The 8th grade Girl’s basketball team’s season record is currently 2 and 1.

Monday, December 11, 2017 Day 4

Today, the 6th Grade Chorus classes will have their combined rehearsals. Students who are in Mrs. Mancuso’s 2nd period classes will report to the small gym immediately following announcements. Students who are in Mrs. Mancuso’s 3rd period classes will rehearse during periods 3 and 4 today in the small gym. Teachers, positive attendance will be taken.

7th Grade students will have their rehearsals tomorrow. The schedule for both days is posted on the white board outside of the main office.

This weekend your blue demon wrestlers traveled to Chichester to wrestle at the H Louis Stopper tournament. Overall the team had a strong showing.

In 4th place were:  Christian Vega, Will Chandler, and Alvaro Guzman.

In 3rd place were:  Ismael Torres, Dylan Boddy, and Samantha Mondragon

In 2nd place was: Bailey Shindle

Your champions were: Josh Barlow and 2 time champion Darrale Barrett

The team will be away today at Octarara. Go Blue Demons.

Congratulations to the girls basketball team for their convincing win over Peirce Middle school. Megan Ward and Lili Lusvardi lead the team in scoring with 10 points each in Kennett’s 43-3 victory.

Attention KMS, The Walnut Street Theatre Group presentation, Hurry Up and Be Perfect that was cancelled yesterday has been rescheduled for Monday, December 18 during our cycles classes.

Yesterday your Kennett Blue Demon Wrestling team won its first match of the season. The win took a total team effort came down to the very last match. A pin allowed the blue demons to tie the match. It was decided that Kennett won the match on tie breaker criteria. Overall Kennett collected 5 pins and 1 decision and 2 forfeits in order to accumulate its 45 points. The wrestling team will be back at it this weekend wrestling at the annual Chichester Wrestling tournament. Good luck team. Bring home the gold.

The 8th grade students that are playing in the Volleyball game today please stop in Mrs. Anderson’s room A-006 at the start of lunch.

If you haven’t attended an FCA huddle yet – come and give it a try. It’s a great way to start your day!

Attention any students still interested in wrestling for KMS: it is not too late! However, aside from your physical and sports participation fee, you also have to complete a mandatory hydration test to compete.You may still practice without this test, but in order to compete, a hydration test is required. This test is free, and will take place this Wednesday, December 6th, at Kennett High School. New members to the wrestling team will have to have this test completed on Wednesday to compete, so make sure you attend Wrestling practice this Wednesday, December 6th.

Attention all students. The dance scheduled for tonight has been cancelled. The reason for the cancellation is we didn’t get enough parent volunteers. Next time with more volunteers we can have this fun event!

Attention 7th graders – The School Dental Hygienist will be doing dental exams for 100 students with last names beginning with A- K who have not already provided a report from their private dentist. Passes will be given to these students during homeroom. Exams will be done between 10 – 1 in the nurse’s office. Please come at your designated time to have your teeth checked briefly in the nurse’s office. Student’s whose last names begin with L – Z will have your teeth checked in March, unless you provide a report from your private dentist before March 9th.
