Let’s help cheer on the Birds by wearing Eagles or other NFL jerseys, gear, and hats on this Friday, January 12, 2018! Go Eagles! Let’s win big on Saturday against the Falcons! No hair paint or face paint is allowed.

There will be Reading Olympics meetings in the library at all lunches on Fri. January 12th. Please see Mrs. McGarvey if you cannot attend.

Attention ALL students interested in participating in this year’s musical, MADAGASCAR!

All stage performers: Actors, singers, dancers, and tumblers: Your meetings are TODAY, January 11thAND TOMORROW, January 12th from 2:35-4:30 in the Cafeteria. Come with comfortable and appropriate clothes and sneakers to dance. You SHOULD attend one of the meetings to be prepared for your audition, but you MAY attend both. Everyone who wants to perform on stage MUST audition.

Students interested in working on Stage Crew: You must attend ONE of the meetings TODAY, January 11th OR TOMORROW, January 12th from 2:35-3:45 in the Cafeteria. At this meeting you will pick your top 3 role choices.

There will also be an informational meeting for parents of students interested in performing on stage or joining Stage Crew Tuesday night, January 16 at 6:30pm in F103. This meeting is primarily for parents of students interested in the KMS Musical for the first time, but all parents are welcome.

It was an amazing night at Tuesday nights annual KMS Spelling Bee! It what may be the most rounds in a KMS Bee ever, eighth grader Tiffany Lee was victorious in round 41! Yes, that’s right…41 ROUNDS of spelling! Emma Smith, also an eighth grader, did an amazing job and was the runner-up. Both ladies will receive prizes for their efforts. All spellers will receive certificates at a future school assembly and should be proud of their efforts.

Thank-you to all volunteers and language arts teachers who made the event possible. We are also grateful to Mr. Moore, Mr. Whisler, and all the custodians for helping with the event.

Attention 7th graders: The 7th grade will be visiting the Franklin Institute on Friday, February 16th. Please turn in your permission form and money to your first period teacher by THIS Friday. If you need a new permission form, see Mrs. Leo or Mrs. Pye.
