Thursday, February 22, 2018 Day 2

Here is an update to the calendar. The first half of the third marking period (T5) comes to an end next Tuesday, February 27th. It’s hard to believe we are almost halfway through the 3rd marking period. Make sure you are checking skyward to be sure you are up to date with all assignments.

Attention all KMS Students. This is a message from Christian Dahms, 8th grade student at KMS. Did you know that 52,000 service members have been physically wounded in the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, or that an unprecedented number of servicemen and women have sustained wounds of such severity that they will require lifelong assistance with things that we do everyday that we take for granted? This is a message from 8th grader Christian Dahms, and as the son of a former serviceman who has taken care of many of these people, he knows the seriousness of this situation.

So, starting this Wednesday, February 21st of 2018, we will doing a fundraiser called Hoops For Troops. We will be selling raffle tickets during all lunches for an opportunity to participate in a school-wide basketball trivia Kahoot Challenge! The Kahoot game will be based entirely on basketball trivia. Tickets cost $1 each and will be sold Wednesday, February 21st through Tuesday, February 27th. 20 tickets will be pulled at random on Tuesday afternoon and those students will be the winners! Winners will get to participate in the Kahoot Basketball Trivia game during 9th period on Thursday, March 1st. AND…those 5 individuals will get to play a game of knockout against 5 KMS teachers during the halftime of the Student V.S. Faculty Basketball game on the evening of Friday, March 2nd.

Remember-The more tickets you buy, the better your odds are of getting selected as one of our 20 winners! And- even if you are not into basketball, we will still accept monetary donations to benefit our cause without the purchase of a ticket. All donations for this fundraiser, Hoops For Troops, will go directly to the Wounded Warrior Project. Help us support the brave men and women who lay their lives on the line for our safety. Thank you. Christian Dahms
