Tuesday, February 20, 2018 Day 6

Attention all girls interested in playing lacrosse this year!!

There will be a brief meeting during 7th and 8th grade lunches in the main lobby, tomorrow Wednesday 21st. Please meet coaches in the front lobby during your lunch. Go Blue Demons!

Yesterday we did not have school in honor of Presidents Day. PresidentsDay is an American holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February. Originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington, it is still officially called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government.

Here is an update to the calendar. The first half of the third marking period (T5) comes to an end next Tuesday, February 27th. It’s hard to believe we are almost halfway through the 3rd marking period. Make sure you are checking skyward to be sure you are up to date with all assignments.

This week is National Engineers Week! We will be taking a closer look at the career field each day by tuning in to a feature video. Join us as we explore the meaning of engineering and the possibilities beyond the title. In addition to the daily features, we will also be highlighting National Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, which is this Thursday, February 22nd. Mrs. Bonacquisti and Mrs. McGarvey will be hosting an activity in the library during each grade’s lunch for girls who are interested in taking a closer look at the Engineering field! Stay tuned for more information later this week! Now let’s turn to today’s feature video…
