There will be a softball interest meeting today for 7th and 8th graders during the first 10 minutes of lunch. The meeting will be held outside the cafeteria. Please plan on attending if you are interested in playing softball this spring.

Inspire Brandywine Exhibit to Feature KMS Student Artwork!

We have exciting news from the KMS art department!  One hundred and fifty (150) of our students will have their artwork on display at the Brandywine River Museum during the month of March.   

Students will have an art reception Sunday, March 4th from 3 p.m.to 4:30 p.m. at the museum.  Entrance to the reception is free.

KCSD Calendar Information 2018-2019

The 2018-2019 student school year will begin on Monday, August 27, 2018, and is tentatively set to end on Thursday, June 6, 2019, dependent on the need for inclement weather make-up days. The winter holiday will run from Monday, December 24, 2018, through Tuesday, January 1, 2019, with school resuming on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Spring break will be Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19, 2019. Graduation is scheduled for Friday, June 7, 2019.

Inclement weather make-up days will be added to the end of the school year. There are five days designated as “local holidays” in accordance with the ruling of the Department of Education. The designated local holidays are Monday, January 21, 2019 (Martin Luther King holiday); Monday, February 18, 2019 (President’s Day holiday); and Monday, April 15 through Wednesday, April 17, 2019 (spring break).

Eighth Grade Parent Night RESCHEDULED!

The Eighth Grade Parent Night at Kennett High School has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 28th at 6:30 pm. You are invited to take a brief tour of the school building from 6:00-6:25 p.m. before the presentation begins. Students do not need to attend. You will hear a presentation from the high school principals and counselors. We hope to see you there!

Kennett Middle School would like to congratulate Tiffany Lee on her recent participation at the Chester County Spelling Bee on Friday! Tiffany competed through 12-plus rounds of the Bee and represented our school wonderfully! Way to go, Tiffany!

All KMS spelling bee participants will receive their certificates at the awards assembly at the end of the school year! Again congratulations to Tiffany and all our KMS spellers!

Attention All Cheerleaders. A reminder there is a game today. You should be wearing your uniform to school.

Congratulations to the KMS Mathcounts team! They were awarded the Most Improved Team at the county competition this past Saturday. Great work Chris Murphy, Lydia Duckworth, Marvin Cordova Ortiz, and Grant Urie!

Students please remember to bring in an absence note within three days of your absence. Did you know the State of Pennsylvania track our school absences and we get a grade for following that rule.
