Welcoming New Students at KMS

Each year, the Kennett Middle School counselors dedicate one September afternoon to welcoming all middle school students who are newly enrolled in the Kennett Consolidated School District. These middle school students are brought together to celebrate their new beginning by sharing in an ice cream social. They spend two class periods learning about each other, the building, and community events, as well as sharing special memories and/or qualities about themselves that make each of them unique. During this time, they have an opportunity to connect with other students who are experiencing the same transition and to form a cohort of support for each other. For more information about this yummy event, please contact your child’s grade level counselor.
