This past weekend the Kennett wrestling team earned a 3rd place finish at the South Eastern Pennsylvania district 1 middle school championships. The tournament was comprised of 35 teams from all over SEPA. The tournament was a 2 day event where wrestlers had to battle through brackets as large as 32 competitors. In the end Kennett had 8 individuals place in the top 5 competitors in their weight class. In 5th place was Ethan Wentzel and Cody Ford, in 4th place was Michael Pepe and Ryan King, in 3rd place was Joey Wuchter and John Pardo, and two champions were Josh Barlow and Bailey Shindle who finished off their undefeated season in style. It was a great effort by all of our wrestlers that helped the team by gaining advancement points for our team. Other participants were Justin Rowles, Hailey Jaffe, Christian Vega, Kevin Zavala, Mario Garcia, Javier Garcia, and Will Chandler, who narrowly missed out on placing in the tournament. What a great way to end the season. Hopefully next year we can return and move up a little bit. For the eighth graders, district 1 has opened their eyes. Keep working hard and make a statement in the high school next year.

Wrestlers, please return your singlets to the main office right away.

Have a great day KMS.
