March 21, 2019 Day 4

Don’t forget that today and tomorrow are the last two days of the KMS Penny War. Get your pennies in the jug for YOUR grade and sabotage the OTHER grades with your nickels, dimes and quarters!!

Remember today and Friday are half days with conferences. Students, make arrangements to come to the conference with your family. We love celebrating you!

Today is March 21, or 3-21, is a symbolic date to celebrate people with Down syndrome and those who live and work with them throughout the world. The date, 3-21 represents Trisomy 21, the medical term for Down syndrome, which is the third replication of the 21st chromosome.

As part of the celebration around the world, people are encouraged to wear crazy socks. The idea is to wear brightly colored, mismatched, long, printed socks — or even layer three socks, one for each chromosome to show support for kids with Down Syndrome.

We hope your rocking your socks and joining us as we tell the story to accept, respect and include those with Down syndrome in our communities.
