It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood. And on today is the 143 day of the year. And to honor the late Mister Rogers people in Pennsylvania are being challenged to be a good neighbor today. Governor Tom Wolf has proclaimed it as “1-4-3 Day” and is encouraging everyone to do something kind for someone else in memory of Mister Rogers. Fred Rogers often used “1-4-3” as a way to say “I love you” – referring to the number of letters in each word. So, today, do something kind for your neighbor whether that’s someone in the halls, your classrooms, on the bus, extend a hand and help out! Even the Phillie Phanatic and Pirate Parrot got in on the action…

Calling all animal lovers! KMS is hosting a pet food and supply drive benefiting the animals of Faithful Friends Animal Society, a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter in Wilmington, Delaware. Faithful Friends is home to about 602 animals that need your help! Please bring in donations of dog and cat food and treats, toys, paper towels and dish soap, blankets, cat or dog beds, dog leashes, collars and blankets. These items can be new or gently used. Any donation is appreciated and will go to an animal in need! Collection bins will be located at the end of each grade level hallway and in the main office starting Monday, May 6th – Friday, May 31s

The Kennett High School Boys’ Soccer Team will be holding a player and parent meeting on May 28th at 7:00 PM at the high school cafeteria. Any interested players and parents are encouraged to attend.

Any 8th grade student interested in trying out for the Kennett High School Golf Team, please sign-up in the main office. Sign-ups will run through Friday the 24th. More information and a meeting as to the upcoming season will follow from Coach Schultz.
