It was a fabulous Tuesday evening as spellers from sixth, seventh, and eighth grade gathered in the cafeteria to celebrate words! To all who participated, your school is very proud of your hard work and effort. And we are looking forward to honoring you by name at a future, school-wide assembly!

Seventh-grader Hannah Sweetman spelled her way into third place at the Bee! Vienna Gurev, an eighth-grade student and spelling bee veteran, took second place! And the winner of this year’s KMS Spelling Bee was sixth-grader Sarah Myers! She will be representing our school at the Chester County Spelling Bee on February 10th! Congratulations to our place winners, wonderful job to all spellers, and a huge thank you to all the volunteers who made last night’s competition possible!

8th-grade students, enjoy the tour of the Kennett High School. Think about the questions you have so you can ask today.

This Monday we do not have school. That is the day set aside to celebrate the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr., an influential American civil rights leader. He is most well-known for his campaigns to end racial segregation on public transport and for racial equality in the United States.

It is Friday so we get to watch Flocabulary.

Good morning, KMS!

Attention all students, beginning Tuesday and running through today, there will ACCESS testing in the small gym. Anytime you’re approaching that hallway please remain quiet and respectful of the test takers. In addition, for 8th graders who use that small hallway by the locker rooms to get to the F-Wing, particularly Mr. Malkasian’s room and/or the Health room, please go around toward the front office to access the F-wing until further notice. For students who have PE classes, please silently – SILENTLY – walk directly to your respective locker-room and be mindful not to linger in the hallway for an extended period of time. Again, please steer clear of the small gym and that hallway until further notice. There will be no bells today.
