Monday, January 6, 2020 Day 4

All students interested in participating in the Musical Aladdin this Spring should listen carefully…

All stage performers: Actors, singers, dancers, and tumblers: There is one meeting left to teach you how to be prepared for auditions. It will be Tuesday, January 7th after school from 2:35-4:30 in the cafeteria. If you did not attend last week’s meeting you SHOULD attend Tuesday. These meetings are to help you feel more confident and best prepared for your audition. If you do not attend one of the meetings, you may not be best prepared to audition. Please come prepared to dance with appropriate, comfortable clothes and sneakers. You should bring a bottle of water, and you may bring a snack for yourself. Everyone who performs on stage MUST audition, but everyone who auditions WILL BE invited to practice and perform in the Musical on May 8th and 9th.

Students interested in working on the Stage and Tech Crew: You MUST have attended ONE of the meetings last week OR Tuesday, January 7th after school from 2:35-3:45 in the cafeteria. At this meeting, you will hear from Mrs. Coe what the different roles are and what is done backstage and in “the house.” You will petition for your top 3 role choices.

If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Uster in A004 or Mrs. Coe in B004 as soon as possible.

Looking for something fun to do after-school this Winter? After-The-Bell starts again on January 21st with new sign-up forms already handed out in homeroom. Registration starts tomorrow Tuesday, January 7th at 7:15 am. There is something for everyone and lots of fun to be had by all. Drop by C106 with any questions.

And in sports –

The 8th Grade Girls Basketball team soundly defeated Patton on Friday Night.

The final score was 41-32.

It was a solid team win with every player contributing to the victory. Unselfish passing and strong defense opened the doors to the substantial lead.

Mary Carroll led all scorers with 16 points, followed by Mia Matthews with 12. Greta Gurns, Evie Saathoff, Claire Fowler, and Jaylee Kilgore also contributed some buckets. Key defensive plays were made by Sawyer Fellows, Olivia Brison, Elle McCracken, Amy Castleton, and Julia Hertz.

Great Team effort Ladies! It always feels good to beat Unionville on your Home Court.

Good luck this week in your last 4 games of the season.

Have a great day KMS!
