Our students’ opening reception is Sunday, March 1, 2020, 2:30 to 3:30
Come and enjoy light refreshments and a special musical performance by “Kennett High School String Quintet.” This is all happening at The Brandywine River Museum.

Although Charles Hamilton Houston’s (1895-1950) death preceded the widely accepted start of the Civil Rights Movement by four years, his influence on the movement can’t be denied. Houston was a Harvard educated lawyer who was instrumental in challenging the racially discriminating Jim Crow laws which led to the U.S. Supreme Court decision to declare racial segregation in public schools unconstitutional
