Wednesday, February 6, 2019 Day 2

Good morning, today is the third day of “National School Counseling Week” and we want you to think about your future.

How many of you have thought about what you want to be doing in five years? Ten years? Twenty years? What do you see yourself doing? Where will you be? The world is changing rapidly, and your options are unlimited.

Did you know that the top 10 in-demand jobs this year didn’t even exist in 2004? Did you know that when you enter the job market you will

be using technology that has not been invented yet in order to solve problems we don’t even know are problems yet?

What an exciting time. Take advantage of your opportunities at school to learn, to discover what you’re good at and to figure out what you love. Benjamin Franklin said, “Hide not your talents, they for use were made. What’s a sundial in the shade?”

Find your talents. Celebrate your future. Dream big.

Counselor Quote of the day: Confucius once said, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”

Students participating in the Grade 6 Mindfulness Group, please report to the designated meeting space during 5th period today. We will meet at 10:33 am. Don’t forget to get your pass from your homeroom teacher! See you soon!

FCA huddle will be this Thursday morning at 6:50 am in Mr. Bowling’s room. If you have been curious about what FCA is – come and check it out. There will be donuts!

8th Graders who have not turned in their permission forms for the TCHS field trip on February 22nd, please get them signed and turn them in to either your homeroom teacher or the guidance office! You don’t want to miss out on this super fun and informative afternoon!

There will be Reading Olympics meetings in the library at all lunches today!

Congratulations to the KMS Mathcounts Team that competed this past Saturday in the Chester County Competition.

Their exceptional effort was noted not only by the coaches, but by the county moderator. Members are Park Komacek, Ava Gavin, Marvin Cordova Ortiz, Paul Mullin, Grant Urie, and three year participants Lydia Duckworth and Chris Murphy!

Have a great day KMS.

Monday, February 4, 2019 Day 6

Today is the first day of “National School Counseling Week.” This week is sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) and it’s designed to highlight the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. In honor of this week, the KMS counselors would like to offer a daily dose of morning motivation to encourage and inspire!

It is often difficult for students to embrace or recognize their strength and beauty especially when

various every day stressors like tough classes, peer pressure, family and friendship problems get in the way! Therefore, allow us to remind you that each one of you is imperfectly perfect and should be proud of who you are.

Quote for the day: In a world where you can be anything, Be yourself!

Have a Great Day!

Ms. Boder, Mrs. Reinheimer and Mrs. Stoudemire

8th Graders who have not turned in their permission forms for the TCHS field trip on February 22nd, please get them signed and turn them in to either your homeroom teacher or the guidance office! Here are some tips to stay healthy during this time of flu season.

Frequent hand-washing is one of the simplest — and most effective — ways to prevent the spread of germs. We suggest soaping up for as long as it takes to sing the “Happy Birthday” song twice. Remember to wash your hands:

Before eating food

After using the bathroom

After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing

Common sense can go a long way toward staying healthy in school. In addition to frequent hand-washing, you should

  • Use hand sanitizer.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.Keep your hands away from your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Steer clear of colds.

Attention What So Cool About Manufacturing students, please meet in Mr. Malkasian’s room, F111, this afternoon at Lunch. There will be a quick meeting to discuss the final details of our editing.
