Technology

All KMS students will be issued a Chromebook from the district in grade 6 or upon registration. Students are expected to bring their charged school-issued device to school every day.
In addition to the hardware, technology is supported by a high-capacity fiber-optic Internet connection.

For students’ safety, the Internet connection is protected by a firewall. KCSD utilizes Schoology as our district’s Learning Management System, which allows teachers to create a personalized learning experience for students.  KCSD utilizes Skyward as our Student Information Management System.  Teachers maintain grades in Skyward, and parents have live access to grades in all classes.  Teachers also use Skyward to post messages to parents.

KMS continues to strive for Personalized Learning in a variety of classrooms.  A Personalized Learning Environment entails a purposeful data-driven design of instruction, combining face-to-face teaching with technology-assisted instruction and collaboration, leveraging each student’s learning style and interests for deeper meaning.
